"If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking."

Motto of the weekend

Quote of Haruki Murakami

This quote applies exactly my thinking. It expresses that far from best-seller lists there are wonderful stories of very good authors. Please do not misunderstand. Who like to read highly praised much advertised books is dear to me as well as readers who are looking for small publishers and less read authors. This includes clearly an own opinion to read. This feels authentic especially if not already 10 other reviews appear on other blogs. Therefore it is important to me, books to discuss do not read any or would to read. Every reader has his favorite genre and that is a good think. But we have a large variety of books. Sometimes it can not hurt to devote to something new.

Haruki Murakami was born 1949 in Kyoto. His parents taught japanese literature. Even as a child he was more interested in westerly music and literature. With writing of his own books he started in the age of 29 years. In 1979 he published his first novel. His books have been translated in about 40 languages.

I wish you a wonderful Sunday with a lot of new books!!!

Tea of the summer - "Green tea strawberry cupcake"

(c) Karin Hillig
Now it is time for a tea recommendation. It is difficult to present you a tea per month, so I will do it only seasonal. This recommendation falls in the english month. What goes well, because I have not seen this tea in german shelves. I bought the tea during my holiday in the Netherlands.

I love green tea, I am a big cupcake fan and defining strawberries than absolute favorite fruit. So the Lipton "green tea strawberry cupcake" combines all of my taste preferences. It is available in pyramid bags with 20 pieces in the pack. The ingredients are restricted to green tea, flavor and strawberry pieces. The last just make up 2,4 percent. According pack and manufactures should have this tea does not bitter taste. I can not confirm exactly. The brewing time is two minutes short. If these time slightly only exceed, it can be a slight bittert taste. That does not bother me persinally, because green tea has a bitter nuance. It is not a fruit tea. The strawberries taste good because the flavor works. After a few cups you can taste a slight hint of buttery cupcake.

There is only about amazon to get a tea pack in Germany at the time. This is really intense in the procurement. In the Netherlands I have payed for one pack 2,29 €.

In summary, this green tea is something for those who do not say no to flavored tea in beetween. For all who love strawberries,  it is the right thing.

Should you have bought this tea in Germany, I would be glad about information where you have it.

In this sense, enjoy it!

Sorry, that my posts are not longer, I write this word even with my smartphone. Hope this problem comes to an end...

"A whole human life is just a heartbeat here in heaven. Then we'll all be together forever."

Motto of the week
(c) Karin Hillig

Quote of "Chris Nielsen" at the movie "What dreams may come"

This motto of the week I would like to didicate a special man who could not overcome his dark throughts. A man who convinced us in so many film roles.

In my life he was an alien, was able to build his muscles with spinach, was a radio presenter, a teacher with a penchant for poetry, was homeless and my peter pan, has his own children kept as a woman, hunted wild animals through the house, was associated with a drag artist, aged faster than others, was a chaotic professor, lied with good intentions, was 200 years old and came alive at night.

I really hope that Robin is now on the horizon the king of the moon. Fly very well!!!

What does the quote for me? Our life seems long, but basically it is rather short. This short time we should use. Above all, not only for ourselves. We should also look to other people. Help them, listen to them, they devote a part of our lives. Whether you believe in heaven or does not, this does not matter. Just spending time with our heart-people makes our human life appear longer and rich.

I wish you a wonderful new week with lots of sunshine and light out of heaven!

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

Quote of Martin Luther King Jr.

Before I tell you my thoughts, let me apologize if the post looks different. My notebook has failed his duty and so I must use for writing my smartphone.

When I read this quote, I thought it fits well currently in our world even though it is already more than 50 years old. Sure there are in Germany also plenty of dark moments, but what people away from us have to suffer is terrible. Especially children are surrounded by hate and darkness. They have no voice, they are not heard. Why not? Why must repeat such actions and thinking of adult human? Why cannot my opponent have no other faith, look different than me? Understanding of others is more important than blind hatred and deepest darkness in their hearts. We are human beings with feelings, should we behave and to control them. Maybe I imagine the whole things to easy. But for me just that it is. Simply more understanding, just more talk, just more respect and simply more light and love!

Martin Luther King Jr. was born in 1929 in Atlanta. He was an American Baptist and civil rights activist. He is one of the most important representatives of the struggle against social oppression and racism. Because of its commitment to social justice Martin Luther King Jr. received the nobel prize of peace on 1964. Only four years later King was assassinated in an attack. He was only 39 years old.

I hope you have a wonderful new week with more understanding and a lot of love!!!

Quote from Dr. Seuss

Reading is the best to go on long journeys. We are at home and far away yet. Why not travel with children to places with fantasy beings, talking animals or adventurous discoveries. Reading, especially reading to children is a sign of love, understanding and secureness. The small audience snuggle up to us and go on a wonderful journey. This time is important for the development of children but in the same it is very lovely to us. Together! Talk about what we read, what we feel and what we would do instead of the protagonist. We hear about fears, desires and hopes of the figures. Our children are encouraged to talk about it too. It is not wacky to sit there with the children and read to. It is a comfortable time with the important persons of our life. Our kids! Let us share the energy, imagination and creativity with the young readers.

Theodor Seuss Geisel called Dr. Seuss was born in 1904. He was one of the famous children book authors of the United States in the 20th century. Many people know his story of the grinch. Many of his books have been made into a film. Some of you probably know "The Grinch", "Horton hears a Who!" or "The Lorax". Seuss always wanted the children to develop reading for pleasure. With his books, he has succeeded. Theodor Seuss Geisel died in 1991.

I wish you a wonderful new week with a lots of reading time and fly to worlds far away!!!

For ages 4 to 10

Young girl Jenna is a member of the Muskogee Creek Nation in Oklahoma. With admiration she looks the jingle dance from her grandmother at the powwow. The dress from grandma wolfe have a voice. The jingles on it make a sound like "tink, tink, tink". Jenna loves the tradition of jingle dance and she hopes to dance on the next powwow. But her dress would not be able to sing. Jenna needs four rows of jingles on her dress. Grandma Wolfe says, that there is not enough time to mail-order tins for rolling jingles. What should Jenna do? She makes her on a way to her great and friendly family. Maybe everthing will be fine.

"Jingle Dancer" is a wonderful book for children in the age 4 to 10. The story about Jenna and her search for jingles was written by Cynthia Leitich Smith in the year 2000. It was her first book. Cyntia tells in a simple but loving way about the tradition of the First Nation. The love of it, is very distinct in the longing of the little Jenna. She is drawn very warm and the reader like her very much. Also all the other people are loving characters. This is supported naturally by the beautiful illustrations. Cornelius Van Wright and Ying-Hwa Hu bring with their colors the story even more to shine. The drawings are very important, especially for the little children. Because the story explain by itself. As soon as the children know about Jenna, they want to know maybe something more her traditions. At the end of the book Cynthia make a small glimpse into this world. Cynthia explain for children, what it means to dance in her way to live. "Jingle Dancer" is a beautiful children's book and get a place of honor on my bookshelf.

Cynthia Leitich Smith was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a tribal member of the Muskogee Creek Nation. Today she lives in Austin, Texas with her husband children's book author Greg Leitich Smith. At least with her book "Blessed" Cynthia is likely to be a term for some young adult readers.
